My buddy and local guide actually fell in the water. He was trying to retrieve a snagged bait and fell in. It was pretty cold! He's good though.&lt;br /&gt;The tournament was on Saturday but it got blown out. They rescheduled for Sunday.&lt;br /&gt;Although it was still pretty windy, I managed to boat some fish. Lots of overs and shorts.&lt;br /&gt;Stayed at St. Joseph's resort in Necedah. I didn't want to spring for $18/doz willow cats so I used whatever I could that might act like one.&lt;br /&gt;There isn't really a good substitute, turns out.&lt;br /&gt;I ended up placing 38th on the first day of the event and then dropped down to 48th.&lt;br /&gt;At least I was in the top half of the field! Went to the west side mud and caught two 22" walleyes, released. No money. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I was worried in the morning because it was calm and I've never fished a tournament when it was calm. Fished shallow - 3 to 4 feet of water with harnesses, 10-20 feet back with 1/8 oz. rubber core sinker. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Blade color didn't matter, speed was between .8 and 1.0 mph. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Oh yeah, caught 30 fish! &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I ran out of crawlers, they were so hungry. Kept 5 smaller 15-17 inchers to eat, but the bulk were between 20-23 inches. Went down to Red Banks and caught 8 more between 18-22 inches. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;All on harnesses, gold-purple blade, 20-40 back with 1/8 oz. weight. 1.2-1.4 mph. Caught 8 fish this time, all on razor minnows. Four 5 pound Browns off the plant.&lt;br /&gt;I ripped north to Stoney Point, but I could see the bottom at 16 feet of water.
